Jiří Beran from the Ministry of Finance appointed as a New Member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Market Guarantee System

The Minister of Finance appointed Jiří Beran as a new member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Market Guarantee System as of May 1, 2026.

Jiří Beran has been working at the Ministry of Finance since 2004 and has served as Director of the Financial Markets II Department since 2014. He was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors for the period from May 1, 2026 to January 5, 2030.

The Board of Directors of the Guarantee System has five members and consists of two employees of the Czech National Bank, two employees of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, and one member appointed upon the proposal of the Czech Banking Association. Members are appointed by the Minister of Finance and may be reappointed. The current list of members of the Board of Directors is available here.

“The Board of Directors is the highest governing body of the Guarantee System. In addition to overseeing its operations, one of the Board’s responsibilities is also approving the budget, annual reports, major public procurement contracts, and appointing the three-member Executive Board, which consists of employees of the Guarantee System,” adds Renáta Kadlecová, Managing Director of the Guarantee System.

The Financial Market Guarantee System manages a total amount of CZK 94.63 billion. Of this amount, CZK 53.30 billion is currently held in the Deposit Insurance Fund and CZK 41.33 billion in the Crisis Resolution Fund.
